About the Role
The Strategic Account Executive role at Datadog is a key position that involves managing large SLED sales and developing strong customer relationships. As a Strategic Account Executive, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with existing customers, and working closely with cross-functional teams to drive growth and revenue. The role requires a deep understanding of the SLED market, as well as the ability to navigate complex sales processes and negotiate favorable pricing and business terms.Datadog's SLED sales team is dedicated to providing best-in-class solutions to customers, and as a Strategic Account Executive, you will be expected to embody this philosophy. You will work closely with customers to understand their unique needs and develop tailored solutions that meet their requirements. The role also involves staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments, as well as sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Prospect into large State, Local, and Education organizations to identify new sales opportunities
- Develop and maintain relationship maps for your territory, including existing relationships and aspirational contacts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at customer organizations
- Develop a deep comprehension of customer's business and identify opportunities to add value
- Negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with large SLED enterprises
- Handle existing customer expectations while expanding reach and depth into assigned territory
- Demonstrate resourcefulness when faced with challenges that defy easy solution
- Identify robust set of value drivers behind all opportunities
- Ensure high forecasting accuracy and consistency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive growth and revenue
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of closing experience, with a mix of field selling within assigned SLED region
- 2-3+ years of SLED/Gov sales experience
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding direct sales goals of M+ with an average deal size of00k+
- Ability to demonstrate methodology to prospect and build pipeline on your own
- Experienced in working for an innovative tech company (SaaS, IT infrastructure or similar preferred)
- Experienced in selling into large SLED organizations with the ability to win new logos
- Strong understanding of the SLED market and industry trends
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
Nice to Have
- Experience with Excel and other sales tools
- Familiarity with MEDDIC and Command of the Message sales methodologies
- Experience working in a hybrid workplace environment
- Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and their applications in the SLED market
