About the Role
The Strategic Business Development Representative role at OpenAI is designed to help drive the adoption of AI solutions across large enterprises. This role is a launchpad for future sellers at OpenAI, offering significant exposure to enterprise sales, product, and customer strategy. The successful candidate will develop core skills in discovery, stakeholder mapping, deal shaping, and executive communication while building a deep understanding of how leading companies adopt AI.As part of the Enterprise Go-To-Market organization, this role plays a crucial part in helping the world's largest companies scale OpenAI's AI platform across their business. From ChatGPT Enterprise to developer and APIs, the team partners with organizations to build new AI-powered customer experiences, transform operations, and reimagine how work gets done in highly regulated and technically complex environments.
The role involves working closely with Account Directors on account strategy, multi-threading, and deal progression, as well as designing and executing targeted outbound strategies to break into priority accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the AI landscape and the ability to connect OpenAI products to real customer value and business outcomes.
What You Will Do
- Identify, shape, and advance complex enterprise opportunities by turning product usage, pilots, and inbound demand into qualified, high-conviction enterprise opportunities
- Partner with Account Directors on account strategy, multi-threading, and deal progression
- Design and execute targeted outbound strategies using industry context, stakeholder mapping, and product signal to break into priority accounts
- Lead high-quality discovery to uncover business priorities, map stakeholders, and assess enterprise readiness
- Contribute to pipeline reviews by sharing outbound activity, account insights, and early competitive signals
- Build and iterate on AI-enabled GTM workflows (GPTs/Agents) to scale prospecting and qualification
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of OpenAI's products and their applications in various industries
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sales strategy and execution
- Provide feedback to product and engineering teams to improve the overall customer experience
What We Are Looking For
- 4+ years of relevant experience in enterprise sales or strategic customer-facing roles in the finance or consulting industry
- Fluency in business-level Korean
- Track record of consistently hitting and exceeding ambitious targets in enterprise or strategic sales environments
- Experience selling into regulated or complex industries (Financial Services, Life Sciences, Retail)
- Strong communication skills and executive presence; ability to build credibility with senior C-Suite stakeholders across an organization
- Strong interest in the AI landscape with the ability to connect OpenAI products to real customer value and business outcomes
- Ability to evangelize new technology and help the market understand what’s possible
- Comfortable with ambiguity, moving quickly, and operating with a high degree of ownership
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
