About the Role
At Affirm, the Strategic Finance team plays a critical role in driving business outcomes through financial modeling, analytics, and strategic planning. As a Strategic Finance Analyst II, you will be responsible for supporting the growth of Affirm's top-line revenue streams with large business-to-business merchant partners. This high-impact role requires a deep understanding of financial modeling, data analysis, and strategic planning.The Strategic Finance team is a tight-knit group with a strong focus on collaboration and cross-functional impact. As a key member of this team, you will work closely with cross-functional leaders to drive business outcomes and provide strategic support. What You Will Do
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to drive business outcomes through strategic and analytic support
- Build and maintain financial models to forecast, reconcile, and describe variances for key metrics
- Collaborate with the ML modeling team to integrate financial modeling with aggregated ML forecasts
- Establish top-line performance metrics and targets, analyze and report realized financial performance to executives and other company leaders
- Design and deliver scalable automated user and financial dashboards and analytics for cross-departmental and executive consumption
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Affirm's business model and key drivers of growth
- Provide strategic support to cross-functional teams, including product, growth analytics, credit, revenue, and merchant pricing
- Drive accountability for results and provide actionable insights to inform business decisions
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in financial modeling and analysis
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in fast-paced analytical roles, such as strategic finance, investment banking, consulting, data science, or analytics
- Strong sense of ownership, intention, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to think creatively and critically
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex financial information into clear, concise reports
- High attention to detail, with the ability to see the big picture and evaluate analyses with strategic business context
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to navigate cross-functional collaborations effectively and present to company executives
- Curiosity to build things, such as processes, models, or tools, with or around AI
- Experience with merchant payments and/or providing analytical support to B2B client relationship and sales teams is a plus
- Excellent working proficiency in Excel, with the ability to build complex financial models and perform data analysis
- Comfort with SQL, Sigma, Cursor, and/or other data visualization tools, with Python knowledge being a plus
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the financial technology or lending industry
- Knowledge of machine learning models and their application in financial analysis
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and tools, such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Certification in financial planning, such as the CFP or CFA
