Job Description

About the Role

The Strategic Partnerships Director will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth through strategic partnerships. This involves building and leading a high-performing partnerships team, defining the partnerships strategy, and personally leading the most critical partnership relationships. The director will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, to ensure seamless integration and onboarding of partners.

As the partnerships function is core to the company's growth model, the director will be responsible for building the team and strategy from a position of commercial traction. The company has already seen significant growth, with £75m raised in Series C funding, and is now looking to scale its distribution through strategic partnerships.

The director will report to the senior leadership team and will be responsible for setting the partnerships strategy, including target segment definition, commercial model design, and partner tiering framework.

What You Will Do

  • Set the partnerships strategy, including target segment definition, commercial model design, and partner tiering framework
  • Lead a team of partnership managers, setting direction, coaching performance, and building a high-accountability culture
  • Personally own the most strategic partnership relationships, acting as the senior face of the business to major enterprise partners
  • Design and negotiate commercial partnership structures, including revenue sharing, integration agreements, and co-marketing arrangements
  • Work with Product to ensure the platform's integration and onboarding capabilities meet the needs of large-scale distribution partners
  • Define what a great partnership looks like for the business and build the processes, commercial models, and governance needed to scale partnership revenue
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the market, industry trends, and competitor activity
  • Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities, leveraging the company's network and relationships
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities

What We Are Looking For

  • 10-15 years of experience in partnerships, business development, or commercial leadership, with a track record of building partnerships that drive meaningful revenue
  • Experience in structuring and closing complex, multi-year commercial partnerships with large organizations
  • Strong leader with experience managing and developing partnership teams
  • Commercial and analytical, able to assess the financial value of partnerships and build business cases that secure internal investment
  • Fintech, embedded finance, or platform/marketplace experience is a strong advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with partners and internal stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to navigate complex partnerships and commercial agreements
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to adapt to changing circumstances

  • Experience working with AI-powered matching technology
  • Knowledge of the consulting industry and the role of partnerships in driving growth
