Job Description

## About the Role As a Strategic Solutions Engineer at Postman, you will play a crucial role in driving enterprise sales and supporting the growth of our enterprise business. You will partner with our sales team to promote an API-first development culture, nurture customer relationships, and guide Postman users in leveraging our platform to build their APIs most effectively. Our sales, customer success, product, and engineering teams will support you well in this role, providing a collaborative environment to succeed.

The Strategic Solutions Engineer role is critical in helping our customers adopt API-first development best practices. You will work closely with our sales team to identify new business opportunities and help customers understand the value of Postman's platform. This involves conducting technical demos, proof of value workshops, and handling Postman technical questions or objections. You will also be responsible for sharing customer feedback with our product and engineering teams, ensuring that our platform meets the evolving needs of our customers.

## What You Will Do - Help drive enterprise sales by nurturing prospects and supporting Strategic and Enterprise customers - Conduct discovery, qualification, technical demos, and proof of value workshops with prospective customers looking to embrace Postman for their API lifecycle - Handle Postman technical questions or objections and provide solutions or workarounds to address customer needs - Understand deeply our customer workflows today and how they can adopt API-first development best practices - Share customer feedback with appropriate teams and provide general customer advocacy - Remain up-to-date with the competitive landscape, current trends, and challenges in the API market - Create proof of concept integrations, tooling, and workflows as needed to support prospective customers - Maintain and develop customer sandbox environments and best practices for working with the product - Act as a technical intermediary between sales and other teams to best fit our customer needs - Collaborate with our sales team to develop and execute account plans, identifying new business opportunities and helping customers achieve their API-first goals

## What We Are Looking For - 10+ years of enterprise sales/solutions engineering experience - 6+ years of software development experience - 6+ years of API and Data platforms experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or relevant work experience - Remote work friendly, with the ability to travel up to 50% - Loves teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced environment - Customer-facing experience and comfortable engaging all levels of technologists, including individual developers, QA, product, and engineering leaders - Experience engaging senior management and executive audiences to convey Postman's value proposition - Capable of forging deep, long-lasting relationships with Strategic customers - Strong understanding of APIs and experience with producing and consuming APIs across different domains - Strong understanding of modern development methodologies and DevOps with an appreciation of the software development life cycle - Comfortable with the enterprise SaaS sales process

## Nice to Have - Experience with JavaScript and expertise in Postman's platform - Experience working in a fast-paced, remote environment - Familiarity with the API-first world graphic novel and Postman's vision - Strong understanding of Excel and data analysis
