About the Role
The Strategy and Business Development Manager - Cloud role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise is a senior, forward-looking individual contributor position that partners closely with Cloud leadership, sales teams, Product Line Management, and Supply Chain to drive growth and expand the Cloud provider ecosystem globally. This role blends strategic market development with hands-on operational support across cloud sales motions, product readiness, and supply chain constraints.As a key member of the Cloud Strategy and Business Development organization, the successful candidate will work independently to identify, qualify, and develop new Cloud Provider accounts globally, expanding the Cloud business footprint. This will involve identifying and evaluating new markets, segments, and growth opportunities aligned to the Cloud business model and long-term strategy.
The role will also involve partnering with Cloud leadership to identify strategic gaps, priority initiatives, and areas requiring additional focus or investment. The candidate will synthesize market, customer, and internal insights into clear, actionable recommendations for Cloud sales and strategy leadership.
What You Will Do
- Work independently to identify, qualify, and develop new Cloud Provider accounts globally, expanding the Cloud business footprint
- Identify and evaluate new markets, segments, and growth opportunities aligned to the Cloud business model and long-term strategy
- Partner with Cloud leadership to identify strategic gaps, priority initiatives, and areas requiring additional focus or investment
- Synthesize market, customer, and internal insights into clear, actionable recommendations for Cloud sales and strategy leadership
- Collaborate closely with Cloud Account Managers, Sales Engineers, and Services teams to support cloud sales opportunities and strategic initiatives
- Partner with HPE Compute and Storage sales motions to ensure alignment and consistency across Cloud-related pursuits
- Serve as a connector between Cloud Strategy and Development, PLMs, and Supply Chain to maintain continuity of Cloud business
- Support the Cloud Strategy and Development team with day-to-day management of sales opportunities, including tracking dependencies and execution risks
- Collaborate with the HPEN Strategy team to align on market direction and influence corporate recommendations for product capabilities and feature requirements in support of Cloud Providers
- Support product readiness efforts, including visibility into feature development timelines and alignment with Cloud provider requirements
- Identify and escalate supply chain limitations, product gaps, or readiness risks that may impact Cloud sales execution or customer commitments
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in strategy, business development, operations, or market analysis within a cloud, networking, or infrastructure technology environment
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior individual contributor, working independently while influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong understanding of cloud business models, go-to-market motions, and product lifecycle considerations
- Proven ability to synthesize data and insights into clear, actionable recommendations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically
Nice to Have
- Experience working with cloud providers and hyperscalers
- Knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Certification in cloud computing, such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
