About the Role
The B2B Marketing team at OpenAI plays a critical role in driving business growth by helping companies understand and adopt OpenAI's cutting-edge products. As the Strategy & Operations Lead, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the operational framework that enables the team to scale efficiently. This involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product, and Communications, to build programs that drive durable growth across enterprise and business audiences.The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of B2B marketing principles, including GTM motions, campaign development, and customer storytelling. You will serve as a trusted advisor to the B2B Marketing leadership, providing strategic guidance on operational priorities, budget planning, and headcount management. Your ability to analyze complex problems, identify areas for improvement, and develop practical solutions will be essential in this role.
As a key member of the B2B Marketing team, you will be expected to drive results-oriented initiatives that enhance the team's overall performance. This includes developing and managing budgets, headcount plans, and operating metrics, as well as creating executive-facing reports that demonstrate the team's progress against business goals.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement the operational framework for the B2B Marketing team, including priority-setting, weekly business reviews, and executive communications.
- Own integrated resource planning across budget, headcount, and hiring priorities, providing clear investment and tradeoff recommendations to B2B Marketing leadership.
- Define and track key performance metrics, including pipeline-oriented measurement, sales partnership, and customer engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new products and services.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks, developing contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
- Serve as a strategic surge capacity for new or high-priority B2B Marketing initiatives, defining the plan, standing up the operating model, and program-managing execution from 0 to 1.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sales leaders, product managers, and external partners.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement in B2B marketing operations.
What We Are Looking For
- 14+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, strategic finance, consulting, marketing operations, or a marketing role in a fast-moving technology environment.
- Proven experience working on or closely with a marketing team, with a deep understanding of B2B marketing principles and GTM motions.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience working with budgets, forecasts, headcount plans, operating metrics, and executive-facing reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders without formal authority.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and data analytics tools.
- Strong cross-functional instincts, with the ability to build trust quickly and drive collaboration across teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Experience working in the AI or technology industry, with a strong understanding of the trends and challenges facing these markets.
- Certification in marketing operations, business analytics, or a related field.
- Experience with Agile project management methodologies and tools, such as Jira or Asana.
