## About the Role The Stress Analyst position at Superior Skilled Trades is a critical role that involves supporting the analysis and validation of ground systems, umbilical hardware, and related equipment. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity that offers the chance to work remotely, providing a unique blend of technical challenge and flexibility. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve performing structural and dynamic analyses to validate umbilical systems during launch and abort operations, among other tasks. ## What You Will Do - Perform structural and dynamic analyses to validate umbilical systems during launch and abort operations.

  • Evaluate disconnect timing, clearance requirements, and load conditions for umbilical systems.
  • Analyze launch pad structures, support equipment, and integrated mechanical systems.
  • Support the development of load cases and design validation activities.
  • Develop hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) models to support design validation.
  • Prepare analysis reports for engineering releases and design reviews.
  • Collaborate with design and drafting teams to support structural design decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and safety requirements.
  • Analyze test fixtures, stands, instrumentation hardware, and leak-check equipment.
  • Perform structural analysis on lifting fixtures, transport frames, handling rings, and associated tooling.
## What We Are Looking For - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience performing structural analysis using hand calculations and FEA methods.
  • Proficiency with ANSYS, Nastran, Abaqus, or similar analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of static, dynamic, thermal, and load path analysis.
  • Familiarity with factors of safety, rated loads, and lifting/handling standards such as NASA-STD-8719 or ASME BTH-1.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
## Nice to Have - Experience with launch vehicle ground systems, umbilicals, or test equipment.
  • Familiarity with NASA MSFC engineering standards and processes.
  • Experience supporting launch, abort, transportation, or handling load case development.
