About the Role
The Student Success Advisor role at Walden University is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about education and student success. As a Student Success Advisor, you will be the primary guide for students, helping them navigate their academic journey and providing proactive strategies to ensure their success. You will be working closely with a team of dedicated advisors and university staff to support students from admission to graduation.The role requires a strong commitment to education and excellent counseling and coaching skills. You will be working with students from diverse backgrounds, so the ability to connect and build rapport is essential. The standard schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, either 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. local time, with some weekend shifts required throughout the year.

What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary guide to ensure students stay on track to meet their educational goals
- Connect with new students upon acceptance of admission to ensure overall readiness and escalate outstanding matters
- Assist students in understanding and completing degree requirements
- Assist students with course registration
- Advise students on university policies and procedures, program requirements, and related academic matters
- Provide comprehensive outreach to students at risk of not meeting satisfactory academic progress
- Closely monitor students to proactively identify at-risk scenarios and develop, implement, and measure academic success strategies
- Work closely with university staff to ensure student inquiries are strategically coordinated and addressed in a timely manner
- Guide students to develop accountability for their decisions and understanding of how those decisions impact their success
- Provide students with proactive guidance on acclimating to their new graduate lifestyle and building supportive personal environments
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3 years of experience working in a service-oriented environment or university setting
- Strong commitment to education and counseling or coaching skills
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to successfully resolve student issues from request through resolution
- Skilled at connecting and building rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
