Subcontractor /Part time: Technical Content Author/Writer/Engineer - Machinery/M

What You Will Do

• Develop technical instructions, illustrations, and other documentation for machinery and manufacturing products
• Collaborate with OEM engineering and aftersales service departments to gather technical information and feedback
• Write and edit technical content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency
• Create and maintain technical illustrations, diagrams, and other visual aids
• Review and revise technical content to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Participate in the development of new products and services, providing technical writing expertise as needed
• Conduct research to stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments
• Provide training and support to other team members on technical writing best practices
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines as needed

What We Are Looking For

• College degree or above in a related field (e.g. mechanical engineering, technical writing)
• 3+ years of experience in technical writing or a related field
• Proven ability to create high-quality technical content, including instructions, illustrations, and other documentation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with XML editors, illustration tools, and other technical writing software
• High-level English language skills, with the ability to write and edit technical content to a high standard
• Experience working in the machinery and manufacturing industries, or a related field

Nice to Have

• Experience with structured authoring tools and methodologies (e.g. DITA, S1000D)
• Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g. ISO, ANSI)
• Familiarity with content management systems and other technical writing tools
• Certification in technical writing or a related field (e.g. CTP, STC)
