About the Role
The Subtitle Localization Specialist role is a critical component of TSMG's content delivery team, ensuring that subtitles for television shows, films, and documentaries are accurately translated and localized for French-speaking audiences. This role involves meticulous attention to linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and technical compliance with subtitle standards. What You Will Do
- Translate spoken English dialogue into French, maintaining tone, context, and cultural nuances
- Edit subtitles to align with audio cues and visual pacing, ensuring readability and timing accuracy
- Proofread and review subtitles for grammar, spelling, and consistency, using industry-standard subtitle editing tools
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement feedback and improve subtitle quality
- Manage multiple projects, coordinating with project managers and editors to ensure all deliverables meet platform-specific technical and linguistic guidelines
- Ensure subtitles comply with accessibility standards and streaming platform requirements
- Review and implement feedback from quality assurance teams to enhance subtitle localization

- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in subtitle editing tools and technologies
What We Are Looking For
- Native or near-native French language proficiency (C1/C2 level), with a strong grasp of regional dialects and cultural references
- Strong comprehension of spoken and written English (C1/C2 level)
- 1-2 years of experience in subtitle translation/editing in French
- Familiarity with AI-driven translation/localization tools and industry-standard subtitle editing software
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Comfortable with media content and familiarity with streaming platforms
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances and regional differences in language
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment
