About the Role
The Supervisor, Billing role at Cox Enterprises is a unique opportunity to lead a team of dedicated professionals in the fast-paced world of transportation. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing billing operations, collaborating with IT and Business Process teams to design and implement billing solutions, and driving continuous improvement. What You Will Do
- Lead and supervise a team of billing experts, ensuring smooth and efficient operations in the transportation sector
- Guarantee accurate, complete, and timely billing and payment processing for transportation services
- Monitor billing and payment reports, identify issues, and develop effective resolution strategies tailored to the transportation industry
- Collaborate with IT and Business Process teams to design, build, integrate, and support billing solutions for both internal and external transportation customers
- Drive continuous process improvement, recommending and implementing steps to enhance efficiency and ensure flawless execution in transportation billing
- Prepare regular updates for management on billing and payment processes and status within the transportation sector
- Ensure compliance with SOX, RevRec606, and company policies specific to transportation
- Monitor process effectiveness and recommend improvements to boost both efficiency and effectiveness in transportation billing
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and vendors
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, developments, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve billing operations and procedures
What We Are Looking For
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field, or a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 3 years’ experience, or a master's degree and 1 year of experience, or a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience
- Excellent skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising a team of professionals
- Expertise in Excel, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop insightful reports
- Experience in the transportation industry, with knowledge of industry trends, developments, and best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop effective solutions to complex problems
- Experience with billing systems and software, with the ability to design and implement new solutions
Nice to Have
- Degree in a related discipline, such as finance, accounting, or business administration
- Experience in a related field, such as logistics, supply chain management, or transportation management
- Certification in a related field, such as CPIM or CSCP
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Knowledge of SQL and database management systems
