About the Role
The Supply Chain Transformation Architect will play a crucial role in redesigning and modernizing Openai's end-to-end supply chain operations. This position requires a unique blend of operational, technical, and analytical skills to transform the company's supply chain processes and enable intelligent, data-driven execution. As a key member of the Finance Platform & Technology team, the successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business agility, compliance, and operational excellence.The role will involve evaluating and redesigning core supply chain processes, identifying operational bottlenecks, and building standardized process frameworks to support rapid scaling of hardware programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chain operations, transformation, and technology, as well as experience in implementing or working with ERP and supply chain planning systems.
What You Will Do
- Lead the end-to-end supply chain transformation, including demand planning, supply planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and fulfillment
- Evaluate and redesign core supply chain processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Identify operational bottlenecks and develop strategies to address them
- Build standardized process frameworks and operating models to support rapid scaling of hardware programs
- Implement structured supply chain practices, such as S&OP and integrated business planning
- Establish operational KPIs and governance to improve predictability, responsiveness, and resilience
- Architect the digital supply chain, including translating redesigned processes into integrated system workflows
- Define data flows across the supply chain to create a single operational source of truth
- Build the foundation for a Supply Chain Control Tower with end-to-end visibility and exception management
- Enable AI-driven operations by identifying opportunities to reduce operational noise and decision latency
- Work with data and engineering teams to embed AI insights directly into operational workflows
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain operations, transformation, or supply chain technology roles
- Deep experience in hardware supply chains, including consumer electronics, robotics, infrastructure, or complex manufacturing
- Proven ability to redesign supply chain processes and operating models
- Experience implementing or working with ERP and supply chain planning systems
- Strong understanding of supply chain data, analytics, and operational KPIs
- Ability to bridge operations, engineering, and data teams to drive real change
- Experience introducing AI or advanced analytics into supply chain operations
- Experience supporting robotics, electronics, semiconductor, or data center hardware supply chains
- Experience building modern digital supply chain capabilities, including control towers, planning transformation, and data platforms
Nice to Have
- Experience with Excel and other spreadsheet software
- Knowledge of supply chain management software and systems
- Certification in supply chain management or a related field
- Experience working in a hybrid or fully remote work environment
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts
