About the Role

The Systems & Enablement Lead, Recruiting Operations role at Openai is a critical position that owns the recruiting technology ecosystem, ensuring that the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), offer workflows, and connected tools are reliable, well-governed, and user-centric. This role is part of the Recruiting Operations (RecOps) team, which provides the systems, workflows, and data foundation that power hiring at Openai. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of recruiting workflows, offers, and hiring data, as well as the ability to balance detailed systems work with user support and enablement.

As a key member of the RecOps team, the Systems & Enablement Lead will work closely with recruiters, coordinators, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve workflow usability and reliability. This will involve designing and running support mechanisms, owning enablement for operational workflow changes, and supporting offer approval and other sensitive recruiting workflows. The role will also require identifying recurring support themes and driving fixes through process changes, documentation improvements, automation, or handoff to People Systems.

What You Will Do

  • Own recruiter-facing intake and triage for operational support requests across recruiting workflows
  • Design and run support mechanisms such as queues, channel triage, SLA management, escalation paths, and service health reviews
  • Own enablement for operational workflow changes, including documentation, training, office hours, and change communication
  • Support offer approval and other sensitive recruiting workflows through clear coordination, follow-through, and exception handling
  • Identify recurring support themes and drive fixes through process changes, documentation improvements, automation, or handoff to People Systems
  • Define what RecOps should solve directly versus what should be escalated to People Systems for configuration, controls, or integration work
  • Partner closely with recruiters, coordinators, People Systems, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve workflow usability and reliability
  • Use data and operational signals to monitor service health, prioritize improvements, and reduce repeat work
  • Evaluate practical AI and automation opportunities that improve support quality, speed, and consistency without weakening controls

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in recruiting operations, HR systems, people technology, or related roles
  • Hands-on experience administering an ATS (Ashby strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of recruiting workflows, offers, and hiring data
  • Ability to balance detailed systems work with user support and enablement
  • Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills
  • Comfort working in fast-moving, evolving environments
  • Highly detail-oriented, with strong operational discipline and a commitment to accuracy and consistency
  • Experience supporting global or multi-entity hiring (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with compliance-sensitive or highly regulated workflows (nice to have)
