WFA Digital Insight
As demand for remote digital skills continues to surge, Aerolab is looking for talented Fullstack Developers to join their team. With the global digital market expected to grow significantly, skills in TypeScript, React, and Node.js are highly sought after. Aerolab stands out for its people-centered approach to digital products and its use of AI in everyday work. Before applying, candidates should be prepared to showcase their technical judgment and ability to critically review AI-produced code, as well as highlight their experience with ambiguity and context-switching in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description
## About the Role Aerolab is a multidisciplinary team that builds people-centered digital products for startups and global brands. This includes websites, web apps, and mobile products, all of which require technical judgment, not just code. The team utilizes AI as part of their everyday work, and as a Fullstack Developer, you will be expected to know how to use AI tools effectively and critically review the code they produce.
The role of a Fullstack Developer at Aerolab is multifaceted, involving the creation and evolution of digital products across multiple projects simultaneously. This includes building web and mobile apps, designing and implementing APIs and serverless infrastructure, and crafting UIs from scratch with attention to detail. The ability to work closely with project managers, designers, and other developers on tight timelines is essential, as is the capacity to support less experienced developers in using AI tools with judgment.
Aerolab values collaboration and ownership, expecting team members to turn ambiguous client briefs into actionable specs and to push back in the design process when they have a better technical idea.
## What You Will Do - Create and evolve digital products for startups and global brands across multiple projects at once.
- Build web and mobile apps using TypeScript, React, Next.js, React Native, and Node.js.
- Design and implement APIs and serverless infrastructure.
- Build scalable interfaces connected to headless CMS.
- Prototype AI features, including LLMs, agents, and RAG, when the project requires it.
- Craft UIs from scratch with real attention to detail across screen sizes.
- Review, refactor, and test AI-generated code before it ships.
- Write and maintain tests where they add genuine value.
- Document technical decisions proactively.
- Participate in code reviews as both reviewer and author.
- Turn ambiguous client briefs into actionable specs that you and your tools can execute.
- Work closely with PMs, designers, and other devs on tight timelines.
- Fluent use of AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) in your daily workflow.
- Judgment to review and verify code (yours or AI-generated) before it reaches production.
- Solid command of TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js, with real experience shipping in at least two different codebases.
- Speed to ramp up on an unfamiliar repo and become productive quickly.
- Intermediate English, spoken and written.
- Comfort with ambiguity and context-switching between clients.
- Ability to support less experienced developers in using AI tools with judgment.
- Previous experience in building scalable and efficient software systems.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI), RAG, MCP, or agents in a real product.
- Previous experience at an agency or consultancy.
- Integrations with headless CMS (Contentful, Sanity, Prismic, or similar).
- Good eye for UI, accessibility (a11y), and performance.
- Experience with Canvas, Three.js, or WebGL.
- Open source contributions or personal projects.
- Direct contact with clients.
- Spaces designed for giving feedback and proposing improvements.
- Membership in SoDA, a global network of leading digital agencies.
- Flexible remote work arrangements.
- Professional development opportunities.
- Access to the latest tools and technologies.
- Collaborative and dynamic work environment.
How to Stand Out
- To stand out in your application, make sure to include examples of how you have used AI tools in your previous roles and how you critically reviewed the code they produced.
- Prepare to talk about your experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js, and be ready to provide examples of projects you have worked on.
- Highlight your ability to work in ambiguity and context-switch between clients, and give specific examples of times when you had to ramp up quickly on an unfamiliar project.
- Make sure your portfolio includes a variety of projects that demonstrate your skills in building scalable and efficient software systems.
- During salary negotiations, be prepared to discuss your expectations based on your experience and the market standards for remote Fullstack Developers.
- Be cautious of red flags such as lack of clear communication about the role, unrealistic expectations, or unsatisfactory benefits and perks.
