## About the Role The Tax Operations Specialist role is a crucial part of Mercer Advisors' in-house Income Tax team, providing support in tax planning and preparation services for high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients. This includes the completion of complex individual, small business, gift, and trust income tax returns. The specialist will be a key team member, requiring flexibility, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and professionalism. Day-to-day, the Tax Operations Specialist will engage in a variety of tasks, from onboarding new tax clients and ensuring the accuracy of client data to generating fee quotes and communicating with clients. This role is pivotal in maintaining the high-quality service Mercer Advisors provides to its clients. The Tax Operations Specialist must be resourceful, proactive, and efficient while maintaining an approachable and professional presence to both internal teams and clients. The Tax Operations team works closely together to ensure seamless service delivery to clients. The team's structure is designed to support each member in their role, with clear lines of communication and a collaborative environment that fosters growth and learning. The Tax Operations Specialist will report directly to the Manager, Tax Operations, ensuring projects stay up-to-date and are completed in a timely manner. ## What You Will Do - Serve as the go-to for onboarding and processing of new tax clients, ensuring all new client data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Input new client information into the company's systems, maintaining data integrity and efficiency.
- Process new client onboards efficiently, within specified service level agreements (SLAs), while providing excellent customer service to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Generate fee quotes and communicate with clients for approval, ensuring transparency and agreement on all services provided.
- Assist with new tax employee onboarding and related administrative tasks, contributing to the growth and development of the team.
- Participate in billing and invoicing tasks, including monthly tax billing, to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
- Assist with terminating tax client engagement, following all necessary protocols and ensuring a smooth transition.
- Contribute to the integration of newly acquired firms, leveraging your expertise to support a seamless transition and minimal disruption to service.
- Utilize various reports to track workflow, monitor data integrity, and provide insights for process improvement, continually seeking ways to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Maintain a high level of communication with the Manager, Tax Operations, and other stakeholders, ensuring projects are on track and any issues are addressed promptly.
- Communicate with clients in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a high-quality client experience and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- At least 1+ years’ experience in an administrative or assistant role, preferably in a financial or tax-related environment.
- Experience or willingness to work with dynamic professionals in a fast-paced environment, showcasing adaptability and a positive attitude.
- Outstanding work ethic with a self-starter attitude, ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize, and deliver multiple tasks on time.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality with all matters.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with a focus on advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide professional and courteous service to clients and internal stakeholders.
