About the Role

The Technical Account Manager is a critical position at Marqeta, responsible for managing the technical aspects of key customer relationships throughout the customer lifecycle. You will be the primary point of contact for customers, providing technical guidance and support to ensure successful implementation and ongoing use of Marqeta's payment solutions. You will work closely with internal teams, including Solutions Engineering, Product, and Technology, to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and to provide feedback from customers.

The Technical Account Manager role is a key part of Marqeta's customer-facing team, working to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and to identify new business opportunities. You will be expected to have a strong understanding of Marqeta's products and services, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for key customers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful implementation and ongoing use of Marqeta's payment solutions
  • Work closely with internal teams, including Solutions Engineering, Product, and Technology, to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and to provide feedback from customers
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, identifying new business opportunities and working to expand existing relationships
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and deliver customized solutions for customers
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments, applying this knowledge to identify new business opportunities and to improve customer satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including customer-facing documentation and internal knowledge base articles
  • Participate in sales meetings and customer calls, providing technical expertise and support to the sales team
  • Identify and mitigate potential technical risks, working with internal teams to develop and implement solutions

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of customer-facing work experience in high-tech or financial technology services, with a focus on technical account management, solutions engineering, or technical consulting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong technical skills, with experience working with payment systems and technologies
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, identifying new business opportunities and working to expand existing relationships
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development
  • Ability to travel to customer locations, as needed

  • Knowledge of programming languages, such as Java or Python

  • Certification in payment processing or a related field
