## About the Role As a Technical Architect at Gitlab, you will play a pivotal role in defining custom professional services projects and delivering successful engagements. You will work closely with the sales team, especially engagement managers, to articulate the benefits of GitLab DevSecOps transformation projects to prospective clients. The role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, consultative advice, and customer-facing skills.
The Technical Architect will be a key member of the Professional Services organization, collaborating with Professional Services Engineers, Project Managers, and Solution Architects to drive the success of Professional Services engagements. With Gitlab's expansion of its world-class professional consulting organization, this role is crucial in maintaining the company's proven track record of working with clients from diverse industries worldwide.
The position reports to the Senior Manager, Professional Services Technical Architects, and is a highly visible and customer-facing role. You will be responsible for technical oversight and becoming an embedded trusted advisor within the client's organization.
## What You Will Do - Articulate the benefits of a GitLab DevSecOps transformation project to prospective clients, working directly with Engagement Managers and the sales team - Provide support to PS Engagement Managers during the scoping and creation of the customer statement of work (SOW) - Lead technical discovery sessions with customers, partners, and GitLab PSEs to understand their business goals, technical constraints, and requirements - Provide technical expertise and consultative advice during the planning stages of a customer engagement - Own the design, development, implementation, and support of GitLab-related Professional Services engagements - Coordinate and oversee functional implementation activities for internal and partner consultants, developers, and customer points of contact (POC) on large-scale enterprise projects - Collaborate with the wider Customer Success team to ensure alignment and successful project delivery - Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in Gitlab's Professional Services offerings
## What We Are Looking For - Proven experience in a similar Technical Architect role, preferably in a DevSecOps or related field - Strong technical skills, with expertise in Adjust and Excel - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders - Experience working with sales teams and engagement managers to define and deliver custom professional services projects - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively - Experience working with clients from diverse industries and geographies - Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices - Experience with project management methodologies and tools
