About the Role
The Technical Curriculum Developer will join Datadog's Customer Education and Training team to create high-quality training courses for customers and partners. This role involves collaborating with engineering, product, and customer success teams to develop hands-on labs, self-paced online programs, and instructor-led training. The ideal candidate will have strong security, software development, and instructional expertise to create new training content and improve existing learning materials.As a Technical Curriculum Developer, you will be working closely with various teams to understand customer needs and develop training programs that help them become proficient in using Datadog products. You will be responsible for creating engaging, informative, and interesting educational materials that transform dry technical topics into interactive learning experiences.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to produce high-quality training courses and content for Datadog's customer and partner curriculums
- Evaluate customer training requirements and create a roadmap with clearly scoped courses and defined learning paths
- Communicate with customers to understand their technical needs and build courses that help them become proficient in using Datadog products
- Create high-quality hands-on labs that can be delivered as self-paced online programs or instructor-led training
- Review demo code and courses created by other curriculum developers and coach them to improve the technical and instructional quality of their work
- Coach experts around the company to deliver live workshops at Datadog events
- Write application and infrastructure code to enhance existing learning project applications
- Help create and maintain the technical systems and environments used in hands-on labs
What We Are Looking For
- Technical practitioner with experience in security, software development, devops, technical curriculum development, or related experience in creating educational material for an engineering and developer audience
- Hands-on experience, specialist knowledge, or other experience in building learning content in cloud infrastructure, full-stack web development, mobile development, and/or microservices
- Ability to transform dry technical topics into engaging, informative, and interesting educational materials
- Proficiency in using services on AWS or other cloud providers that integrate with Datadog security products
- Familiarity with at least one Infrastructure as Code tool such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Pulumi, or similar
- Comfortable using Docker or Kubernetes
- Familiarity with one or more security standards such as OWASP, certified ethical hacker, CNCF Security Certification, AWS Certified Security Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer, HashiCorp Vault certification, or other
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud engineering, devops, or related fields
- Knowledge of Datadog products and services
- Experience with instructional design and adult learning principles
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions, disk image build workflows, installation scripts, and other technical systems and environments
