Job Description

About the Role

The Technical Lead, Product Certification Cybersecurity, is a critical position at BSI, focusing on the research, development, and launch of cutting-edge product cybersecurity certification services. As a technical authority in the field, this role will drive the development of BSI's cybersecurity compliance services for connected consumer, industrial, and medical products, as well as digital identity and trust service providers. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the future of BSI's cybersecurity compliance services, ensuring that clients navigate today's complex regulations and prepare for the standards and frameworks of tomorrow. This role combines technical excellence and business insight, requiring the ability to understand new test standards and certification frameworks for product cybersecurity compliance on a global scale.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary technical authority for PC cybersecurity schemes, providing technical thought leadership for product cybersecurity certification
  • Represent BSI in pertinent technical and industry forums for PC cybersecurity
  • Lead the cybersecurity regulations and frameworks assessment activities required by the company strategy
  • Research and identify new potential business areas to be added to BSI's PC cybersecurity strategy
  • Provide support to ensure certification activities comply with ISO/IEC 17065 requirements, accreditation requirements, and internal quality procedures
  • Support sales teams with technical input for proposals, tenders, and key account discussions
  • Lead the technical interpretation of standards, regulations, and certification frameworks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement product cybersecurity certification services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and industry associations

What We Are Looking For

  • Thorough knowledge of a range of global cybersecurity regulations, including ETSI EN 303 645 and IEC 62443
  • Practical experience in delivering assessment services to relevant standards for IoT, such as ETSI TS 103 701 and EN 18031
  • Knowledge of CE and UKCA marking and the associated frameworks
  • Specific knowledge of the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU, and delegated regulation (EU) 2022/30
  • Understanding of conformity assessment processes under ISO/IEC 17065 and experience interacting with ISO/IEC 17025 test laboratories
  • Excellent technical and business acumen, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools

Nice to Have

  • Experience with digital identity and trust service providers, including eIDAS and Digital Wallet
  • Knowledge of other relevant regulations, such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act and the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) regulations
  • Familiarity with agile project management methodologies and version control systems
  • Certification in a relevant field, such as CISSP or CISM
