About the Role

The Technical Leader role at GE Vernova is a critical position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills. As a Technical Leader, you will be responsible for driving the technical design, development, and implementation of comprehensive solution architectures for energy sector clients. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business development, sales, and engineering, to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet customer needs.

The Technical Leader will be the main technical interface between the customer and the project execution team, responsible for leading customer technical meetings, and ensuring successful project execution from design to commissioning. This role requires a strong understanding of the energy sector, including distribution automation, process bus, and cybersecurity management.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in digital protection and control systems or energy management solutions design engineering.

What You Will Do

  • Lead technical projects from design to commissioning, ensuring successful project execution and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with business development and sales teams to analyze customer needs and translate them into technical specifications
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including project technical documentation and design reviews
  • Specify software and IEDs, manage technical execution planning, and ensure adherence to GE Vernova safety standards
  • Address technical deviations, manage fault reports, and support site engineers remotely or on-site
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, and coordinate with commissioning teams for major site milestones
  • Provide project-specific training to customers, support tendering and commercial teams, and ensure customer satisfaction through professional project execution
  • Participate in project risk and opportunity reviews, manage project budgets, and provide regular progress updates
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager for project planning, risk mitigation, and change requests

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital protection and control systems or energy management solutions design engineering
  • Proficient in designing and programming electrical control systems, including SCADA/HMI, cybersecurity, network equipment, IEC61850, Firewalls, and more
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to travel 30% in the U.S. and Canada
  • Experience with smart grid technologies and renewable energy integration
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to Grid Automation

Nice to Have

  • Certifications in relevant technologies, such as Cisco Certified Network Professional
  • Experience with automation electrical control systems, SCADA/DCS systems, and networking communication protocols
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity management and device management
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
