The Technical Product Manager position at Ionic Partners is a unique opportunity to lead the technical product direction of Sparkrock's Finance ERP, serving non-profit and education sectors. As a Technical Product Manager, you will own the technical product direction of Sparkrock's Finance ERP, powering non-profits and education sectors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include collaborating with customers, finance teams, and implementation partners to tackle complex finance challenges. You will be responsible for balancing strategic thinking with hands-on technical design, ensuring that the financial systems are modern, scalable, and automated.

What You Will Do

  • Own product and technical design for core Sparkrock Finance capabilities, such as General Ledger, AP, AR, budgeting, fund accounting, reporting, and integrations.
  • Partner with customers, implementation teams, and internal stakeholders to translate finance business needs into clear technical and functional requirements.
  • Design scalable, secure, and compliant financial solutions, including workflows, integrations, data models, and APIs.
  • Work closely with engineering, QA, implementation, and customer success to ensure solutions are feasible, maintainable, and aligned with product vision.
  • Produce detailed functional and technical specifications, diagrams, and decision records.
  • Evaluate trade-offs, ensuring accounting correctness, performance, auditability, and compliance considerations are addressed.
  • Ensure features are production-ready with clear rollout plans, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality financial solutions, meeting customer needs and expectations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve Sparkrock's Finance ERP.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the software industry, with a focus on technical consulting, architecture, development, or solution design.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager or similar role, with a strong background in finance and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of finance domain expertise, ERP systems, and the non-profit industry vertical.
  • Technical architecture expertise, with experience designing scalable, secure, and compliant financial solutions.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with experience evaluating trade-offs and ensuring accounting correctness.
