About the Role
The Technical Program Manager for Extensibility Programs is a newly created, high-impact role at Stripe, focusing on driving the direction, health, and outcomes of the company's extensibility platform. This role is situated at the intersection of platform engineering, product management, and cross-organizational program ownership. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the program strategy in partnership with DEeP leadership and holding organizations accountable to the success of the program.The extensibility program is key to Stripe's expansion of its total addressable market and increase in customer retention. It enables the company to become programmable, allowing customers and product teams to adapt Stripe to their needs on a common platform. The program consists of three interconnected primitives: Scripts, Custom Objects, and Workflows, which are deeply interdependent and involve over 10 cross-functional teams.
What You Will Do
- Drive cross-org decisions across DRIs in Script Platform, Custom Objects, Apps, SDK, Observability, DevEx, and Versioning, actively resolving hard, ambiguous integration and ownership questions.
- Own the critical path to major launches, proactively shaping scope, driving descope decisions, and negotiating trade-offs across teams to ensure launches reflect deliberate strategic choices.
- Influence and shape product and engineering roadmaps, bringing a program-level perspective to team planning cycles and pushing back where individual team roadmaps are misaligned with broader extensibility strategy.
- Support ProServ and Partnerships by ensuring their requirements are surfaced into the roadmap with the same rigor as product requirements and holding the bridge between what the platform delivers and what those teams need to close and serve complex customers.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive the adoption of extensibility primitives and ensure their successful integration into the broader Stripe ecosystem.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Stripe's products, technology, and business strategy to inform program decisions.
- Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the extensibility program, encouraging teams to think creatively about solving complex problems.
- Work closely with the DEeP leadership team to align the extensibility program with the company's overall strategic goals.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across different teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the extensibility program.
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management, with a focus on driving cross-functional teams and programs.
- Strong technical background, with experience in software development, platform engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions.
- Experience with program management tools such as Asana, Trello, or Jira.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based technologies and platforms.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.

- Experience with Stripe's products and technology stack.
- Knowledge of financial infrastructure and payment systems.
