About the Role

The Technical Program Manager at Ramp will operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and business, driving large-scale technical programs and ensuring the successful execution of strategic projects. This role is critical to Ramp's engineering organization, providing the connective tissue between platform and product engineering teams and ensuring that context flows seamlessly between them. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned technical program manager with a strong background in AI and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams toward ambitious goals.

As a Technical Program Manager at Ramp, you will be responsible for leading large-scale technical programs, owning the engineering incident response program, and partnering with engineering leaders to define technical roadmaps. You will also collaborate with lead engineers, engineering managers, and other groups to communicate business and engineering strategies to the wider organization.

The Technical Program Manager will report to the engineering leadership team and will be expected to drive clarity and momentum across complex, cross-functional programs. This is a high-agency role with real executive visibility and direct impact on how Ramp's engineering organization scales.

What You Will Do

  • Lead large-scale technical programs across engineering and adjacent teams
  • Own Ramp's engineering incident response program and improve processes
  • Run retrospectives and keep the bar high on how the organization learns from incidents
  • Be the connective tissue between platform and product engineering teams
  • Ensure context flows both ways and nothing falls through the cracks
  • Own programs end-to-end: from scoping and kickoff through delivery, observability, and retrospective
  • Partner with engineering leaders to define technical roadmaps
  • Understand how multiple projects overlap and complement each other
  • Ensure programs fit within the goals of the organization
  • Collaborate with lead engineers, engineering managers, and other groups
  • Help communicate business and engineering strategies to the wider organization

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of technical program management experience
  • Genuine AI fluency and experience building with AI tools
  • Ability to operate as both executor and leader
  • Proven ability to earn trust quickly and become the person teams want to confide in
  • BA/BS in a technical or analytical field
  • Proven ability to lead small, cross-functional teams toward ambitious goals
  • Experience with program management tools and methodologies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience building programs at high-rigor, fast-moving companies
  • Background as a software engineer or technical founder
  • Familiarity with how LLM-based systems are built and deployed
