About the Role
The Technical Revenue Accounting Manager will play a critical role in overseeing Atlassian's Enterprise sales in the EMEA region. This high-impact, high-visibility position will require the manager to provide technical accounting expertise to business stakeholders on a range of topics, including contract templates, commercial constructs, and strategic revenue initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the review and approval of revenue agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.As a key member of the Revenue Accounting team, the Technical Revenue Accounting Manager will work closely with leaders across Sales, Legal, and Finance to support Atlassian's growth objectives. What You Will Do
- Manage the review and approval of data center and cloud revenue agreements, ensuring compliance with ASC 606, Atlassian Revenue Policy, and other applicable standards
- Provide support and guidance to Sales, Legal, and Order Management teams on deal structure and contractual terms for revenue compliance and optimization
- Review non-standard terms, ensuring accurate technical accounting assessment and computation of accounting adjustments needed
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors regarding revenue accounting matters, providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Continuously identify and implement improvements to revenue accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement revenue recognition policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain technical accounting expertise in areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and income tax accounting
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry trends, and advise the company on the potential impact of these changes
- Develop and deliver training to stakeholders on revenue accounting topics, including ASC 606 and other relevant standards
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of revenue experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a technical accounting role, ideally with experience in a public company
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition standards (ASC 606)
- Proficient in using large-scale ERP systems (Oracle Fusion a plus) and Revpro
- Demonstrated experience thinking strategically about issues, leading to recommendations and action plans
- Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the company
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- BA/BS degree in Accounting, with a CPA or equivalent preferred
- Experience with a Big-4 accounting firm is strongly preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy

- Experience with Adjust and other revenue management tools
- Knowledge of international accounting standards and regulations
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
- Familiarity with Atlassian's products and services
- Certification in a related field, such as data analytics or financial planning
