About the Role
The Technical Trainer position at Copeland is a critical role that involves delivering technical training to customers, contractors, wholesalers, end-users, OEMs, and employees on Copeland Commercial and Residential Cold Chain Electronics components and systems used in the HVAC/R industry. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop good working relationships with subject matter experts and Product Managers within the organization. As a senior trainer, you will be responsible for presenting a professional manner, staying current with technology and industry trends, and participating in industry events and online educational communities.The role is fully remote, with regular travel to Copeland sites for collaboration with the team or customers as needed. This provides an opportunity for candidates who value flexibility and autonomy in their work.
What You Will Do
- Deliver technical training to customers, contractors, wholesalers, end-users, OEMs, and employees on Copeland Commercial and Residential Cold Chain Electronics components and systems
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with subject matter experts and Product Managers within the organization
- Coordinate the development of course material to cover learning objectives and adjust learning objectives as needed
- Evaluate training material for improvements and implement changes as required
- Conduct standard and custom classes per customer requirements
- Follow good pedagogy practices for teaching adults
- Continue self-study to understand all technologies that are part of the curricula
- Participate in engineering and product planning sessions
- Participate in industry-related forums to ensure accuracy of technical information
- Train and mentor junior training staff
- Serve as the lead customer contact point at training events
What We Are Looking For
- Five years of experience as an HVACR technician, wholesaler, educator, or equivalent HVACR industry role
- Experience with Residential controls and components
- Ability to travel 60-70%
- Ability to present to groups and facilitate learning programs
- Skilled in providing customer service
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Proficient in technology, including Microsoft Suite of Products, PCs, and mobile devices
- Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
- Legal work authorization in the United States
Nice to Have
- Degree in an HVACR-related field
- Seven years of related experience
- Ability to work well with a wide range of people and related diversity
- Skilled in analyzing the audience to present material clearly, concisely, and effectively
- Proficient presentation skills and the ability to handle classes of all sizes and issues that may arise
