About the Role
Allen Control Systems (ACS) is seeking an experienced Technical Writer who can create clear and comprehensive technical documentation for its cutting-edge autonomous counter-drone system.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers to document technical information on systems including computer vision and control systems.
- Develop operator manuals, user guides, maintenance procedures, and safety documentation.
- Ensure compliance with DoD and MIL-SPEC standards for government-facing technical deliverables.
- Manage documentation version control and maintain consistency as the product evolves.
- Prepare and submit technical documentation to ensure adherence to contractual requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in technical writing, preferably in defense technology or related fields.
- Strong understanding of robotics, computer vision, and embedded control systems.
- Proficiency in Excel and document management software.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with government contracting and compliance standards (e.g., MIL-STD-40051, S1000D).
- Background in engineering, preferably electrical or mechanical.
