## About the Role As a Technical Writer on the Docs Content team at Stripe, you'll play a crucial role in helping users adopt the company's industry-leading technologies. Your primary focus will be on creating and maintaining high-quality documentation that makes Stripe's products easy to use for developers and non-technical users alike. You'll work closely with the product teams, support engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and meets the needs of Stripe's diverse user base.

The Docs Content team is responsible for creating a wide range of content, from conceptual overviews and task-based guides to APIs and tutorials. As a technical writer on this team, you'll need to be able to balance the needs of different user groups, from beginner developers to experienced engineers. Your goal will be to create documentation that is not only informative but also engaging and easy to follow.

## What You Will Do - Document Stripe products, including conceptual overviews, task-based guides, APIs, and tutorials - Maintain content quality through curation, user feedback, and content performance analysis - Work alongside developers, product teams, and support engineers to ensure content expertise and documentation accuracy - Deliver results in a dynamic work environment with plenty of autonomy - Push Stripe docs forward by dreaming up and implementing new ways to deliver, author, analyze, and interact with technical content - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement content strategies that meet the needs of Stripe's users - Conduct research to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field and identify areas for improvement in the documentation - Participate in the development of style guides and content standards to ensure consistency across the documentation - Help to develop and maintain the information architecture of the documentation to ensure that it is easy to navigate and use - Assist in the creation of training materials and other supporting content to help users get the most out of Stripe's products

## What We Are Looking For - 4+ years of technical writing experience - Ability to collaborate, partner with, and learn from other skilled tech writers - Proficiency in HTML and Markdown - Conversant with Git and VSCode - Adept at communicating technical concepts clearly and precisely - Experience with backend languages like Ruby, Go, Python, PHP, Node, or Java (preferred) - Experience with large information architecture projects (preferred) - Experience balancing multiple product launches (preferred) - Experience working with a team of technical writers (preferred) - Strong understanding of user experience principles and how to apply them to documentation - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

## Nice to Have - Experience with content management systems and version control tools - Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and how to apply them to documentation - Familiarity with agile development methodologies and how to adapt to changing priorities - Experience with data analysis and how to use data to inform content decisions
