Job Description

About the Role

As a Technical Writer at First Entertainment Credit Union, you will play a critical role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing policy, procedure, and member-facing disclosure documentation. Your expertise will ensure that all documentation aligns with regulatory, legal, and internal governance standards, providing clarity and consistency for both internal stakeholders and external members. In this remote-compatible, full-time role, you will partner with cross-functional teams, including business, compliance, legal, and operations, to translate complex financial and regulatory concepts into clear, actionable, and consumer-friendly content.

The success of this role depends on the ability to work under tight timelines, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the development of a cohesive and compliant documentation framework, supporting the credit union's commitment to transparency and member satisfaction.

What You Will Do

  • Draft, edit, and maintain policies, procedures, and regulatory disclosures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards
  • Conduct gap analysis and document reviews to identify outdated or inconsistent documentation
  • Partner with compliance, legal, risk, and business units to gather requirements and validate accuracy
  • Manage document lifecycle, including version control, approvals, updates, and publication
  • Support policy governance processes, including change management and communication
  • Maintain centralized repositories, ensuring accessibility and audit readiness
  • Translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into clear, concise, user-friendly language
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of banking regulations, compliance, and disclosure requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize documentation needs

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-7+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in financial services
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations, compliance, and disclosure requirements
  • Excellent writing, editing, and document management skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and documentation tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience in banking or credit union operations
  • Familiarity with ERM, GRC, or policy governance frameworks
  • Exposure to consumer disclosures (e.g., Reg E, Reg Z, Truth-in-Savings)
  • Certification in technical writing or a related field
  • Experience with project management tools and software
