About the Role

Thermal Works is seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer & Product Engineer to join their team. This role is critical to ensuring the technical accuracy and alignment of product documentation throughout the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with various teams, including Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Service, to support documentation needs from product development through submittal creation, manufacturing, installation, and field support.

As a key member of the team, the Technical Writer & Product Engineer will be responsible for creating, releasing, and configuring technical documentation for complex HVAC and thermal systems used in data center applications. This includes ensuring that all documentation is technically accurate, revision-controlled, and aligned with released product configurations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing skills, combined with practical knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, manufacturing environments, construction workflows, and document/configuration control.

What You Will Do

  • Create, release, and configure technical documentation for complex HVAC and thermal systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support documentation needs
  • Ensure technical accuracy and alignment of product documentation throughout the product lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain documentation for product development, submittal creation, manufacturing, installation, and field support
  • Work with the engineering team to ensure documentation is aligned with released product configurations
  • Conduct research and interviews with subject matter experts to gather information for documentation
  • Develop and maintain a documentation management system to ensure revision control and accuracy
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure documentation is aligned with production requirements
  • Participate in design reviews and testing to ensure documentation is accurate and complete

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to create clear and concise documentation
  • Practical knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and manufacturing environments
  • Experience with document/configuration control and revision management
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical information
  • Experience with technical writing tools and software, such as MadCap Flare or Paligo
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, technical communications, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in technical writing or a related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems
  • Knowledge of data center applications and thermal management systems
