About the Role
Ophelia is a venture-backed healthcare startup that has been successfully operating in 14 states for almost six years, providing FDA-approved medication and clinical care through a telehealth platform. As a Telehealth Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you will be part of a critical care team that delivers compassionate, evidence-based treatment to patients with opioid use disorder (OUD). Your role will involve working closely with other clinicians, triage nurses, and administrative care coordinators to ensure patients receive appropriate care as their needs evolve.The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving vulnerable populations and either previous experience caring for individuals with OUD or be willing to learn the clinical skills needed to provide medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) through a telehealth platform. No experience with MOUD is required, as Ophelia will provide the necessary training and support.

What You Will Do
- Determine individualized treatment plans for patients and facilitate changes to treatment plans when patients are not improving as expected
- Use motivational interviewing, behavioral activation, and other behavioral interventions as needed to motivate patients to remain in care and adherent to their treatment plan
- Conduct behavioral health and psych evaluations for the suite of psych services, including depression, anxiety, and insomnia
- Systematically track treatment response and monitor patients for changes in clinical symptoms and side effects, treatment adherence, and complications
- Prescribe or queue the appropriate medications
- Provide patient education on OUD and MOUD
- Document all patient encounters in Ophelia's EHR in a timely and high-quality manner
- Work within a team-based approach model of care to deliver high-quality care to patients
- Conduct intake visits and/or follow-up visits, depending on the role type
- Collaborate with other clinicians, triage nurses, and administrative care coordinators to deliver compassionate, evidence-based treatment
What We Are Looking For
- Board Certified NP or PA
- Active DEA license (schedule 3N, 4, 5) or willingness to obtain a DEA upon receiving a job offer with Ophelia
- Fully licensed to practice in New Jersey (additional licenses in PA, NY, VA, or MD a plus)
- Ability to provide patient-centered, non-judgmental, non-stigmatizing care
- Previous experience caring for individuals with OUD or willingness to learn
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Experience working in a telehealth setting
- Knowledge of medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD)
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs)
- Certification in addiction medicine or a related field
