About the Role

The Test Lead position at OpenSymmetry is a critical component of the company's incentive compensation implementation projects. As a Test Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of testing activities across these projects, leveraging your expertise in testing methodologies and your ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting status meetings, preparing documentation, tracking progress, and directing internal and external testing resources.

The Test Lead role is not just about execution; it also emphasizes leadership and strategic oversight. You will be expected to guide and coach team members through the testing process, gathering and analyzing testing metrics to drive decision-making and improve predictability. Your ability to adapt strategies to varying project elements and your strong analytical skills will be essential in this role.

As a Test Lead at OpenSymmetry, you will be working closely with the internal and external test team members, implementation consultants, customer user communities, and the project management team. Your excellent customer advocacy and relationship skills will be crucial in managing client expectations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality testing services.

What You Will Do

  • Create comprehensive test strategies for new implementations, taking into account customer requirements and design specifications
  • Conduct testing status meetings and prepare status reports to stakeholders
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans, scenarios, and scripts based on business requirements and high-level designs
  • Lead and coordinate the execution of system integration testing, user acceptance testing, performance testing, troubleshooting, and debugging
  • Collaborate with internal and external testing resources to ensure effective test execution and defect tracking
  • Investigate issues and manage client expectations, providing timely and effective solutions
  • Develop reusable processes, templates, and toolkits to improve testing methodologies and efficiency
  • Review and analyze change requests to determine the scope of work and estimate the level of effort for testing application changes
  • Monitor testing schedules and budgets, managing exceptions and variances as required
  • Create and maintain testing documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test results

What We Are Looking For

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in testing IT software implementations, with a preference for experience in incentive compensation
  • Experience with automated testing tools and strong proficiency in MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to varying project elements
  • Excellent customer advocacy and relationship skills, with the ability to manage client expectations and deliver high-quality testing services
  • Ability to work independently and fulfill multiple roles, with a strong focus on detail and organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create comprehensive test plans and status reports
  • Experience working in a remote environment, with the ability to manage virtual teams and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
