About the Role
The Tokens-as-a-Service (TaaS) Lead role at Openai is a unique opportunity to drive the end-to-end conversion of industrial-scale infrastructure investments into usable token capacity. As a key member of the Industrial Compute team, you will own execution across complex compute programs, ensuring that raw infrastructure capacity is transformed into operational GPU throughput. Your ability to coordinate across data center delivery, power, networking, hardware deployment, workload enablement, finance, and external partners will be crucial to success.The Industrial Compute team operates at the intersection of infrastructure delivery, hardware systems, utilities, supply chain, and capacity strategy, ensuring that Openai can scale compute faster than traditional models allow. As a TaaS Lead, you will be responsible for building integrated execution plans that span construction, power energization, rack deployment, networking, cluster readiness, and workload onboarding.
The role requires a deep understanding of how power, hardware, networking, and software combine to create usable compute capacity. You will need to be highly structured, able to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, and able to escalate intelligently and maintain momentum under pressure.
What You Will Do
- Lead Tokens-as-a-Service programs across industrial compute environments, including first-party and partner-owned capacity
- Convert delivered power, space, and hardware capacity into production-ready token throughput
- Build integrated execution plans spanning construction, power energization, rack deployment, networking, cluster readiness, and workload onboarding
- Partner with infrastructure engineering, hardware, networking, finance, supply chain, and operations teams
- Drive external providers, EPCs, OEMs, utilities, and strategic partners toward aggressive timelines
- Identify bottlenecks between physical delivery and usable compute output, then lead resolution
- Build operating cadences, dashboards, forecasts, and executive reporting for TaaS programs
- Develop repeatable deployment models for future industrial compute expansion
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective execution
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in AI infrastructure and hyperscale computing
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in program management, operations leadership, capacity delivery, or strategic infrastructure execution
- Strong background in hyperscale infrastructure, data center, manufacturing, or industrial deployment programs
- Understanding of how power, hardware, networking, and software combine to create usable compute capacity
- Ability to operate equally well with engineers, operators, executives, and external partners
- Highly structured approach to work, with the ability to escalate intelligently and maintain momentum under pressure
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate technical execution into business outcomes
- Experience with GPU clusters, AI infrastructure, hyperscale data centers, or industrial technology programs
- Familiarity with utilities, construction, commissioning, networking, hardware deployment, or cluster bring-up
