About the Role
As a skilled RF Engineer at Yrh, you will play a critical role in designing and optimizing 4G/5G cellular networks, including Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring seamless coverage and capacity planning for LTE, 5G-NR, and Wi-Fi networks. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering and project management, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer needs.The role involves working on a wide range of projects, from designing private cellular networks for Industry 4.0 and critical infrastructure operators to optimizing existing networks for improved performance. Your ability to analyze complex data, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions will be essential in this position.

What You Will Do
- Design RF, cellular, and DAS systems, including requirements definition and network analysis
- Conduct simulations using modeling tools such as InfoVista Planet, IBWave, and Ekahau
- Develop link budgets, coverage, and capacity planning for LTE, 5G-NR, and Wi-Fi networks
- Design passive and active DAS systems, small cells, micro cells, and pico cells
- Create BOM and CAPEX and OPEX estimates for cellular and Wi-Fi networks
- Draft functional and technical specifications and requirements
- Select and design RF transmission sites
- Develop interconnection specifications
- Follow up on network expertise and optimization
- Conduct quality of service audits for DAS and small cell installations
- Perform cellular coverage and performance measurements
What We Are Looking For
- Electrical or computer engineering degree from a recognized engineering school
- Membership in Professional Engineers Ontario
- 5 to 8 years of experience related to the RF domain
- Knowledge of cellular networks using LTE, LTE+, 5G-NR, and Wi-Fi technologies
- Experience with modeling tools such as InfoVista Planet, Ekahau, and IBWave
- Participation in telecom projects, including cellular network and DAS design projects
- Knowledge of interference issues, Safety Code 6, microwave interconnection, or optic fiber
- Understanding of service deployment issues
- Planning, design, coordination, and project management skills
- Autonomous, responsible, and self-motivated work style
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel around the GTA
Nice to Have
- IBWave level 2 certification
- Experience working with private cellular networks for Industry 4.0 and critical infrastructure operators
- Knowledge of the Ontario market, including operators and infrastructure
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies and trends
