Transcription Specialist -- Portuguese (Mozambique)

About the Role

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve working with audio files, transcribing spoken content, and refining transcripts to ensure high-quality data. You will be working independently, but as part of a larger community of transcription specialists, all contributing to the same goal. Your work will be reviewed and evaluated to ensure it meets the high standards required for this project.

What You Will Do

• Transcribe audio recordings into text with high accuracy, capturing speech exactly as spoken
• Add timestamps to match the audio, ensuring precise alignment between the audio and transcript
• Identify and label different speakers in conversations, maintaining consistency throughout the transcript
• Mark non-speech events such as laughter, background noise, or unclear audio, providing context for further analysis
• Review examples and apply rules to the provided data, ensuring adherence to project guidelines
• Work with Excel to manage and organize transcripts, utilizing formulas and functions to streamline the process
• Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines, ensuring timely completion of assignments
• Collaborate with the CrowdGen community to resolve questions and issues, fostering a supportive and productive environment
• Continuously improve transcription skills and knowledge of Portuguese language conventions, staying up-to-date with industry developments
• Adhere to CrowdGen's quality standards and guidelines, maintaining high-quality output

What We Are Looking For

• Excellent knowledge of and familiarity with spelling conventions in the Portuguese language
• Fluency in the Mozambique dialect, with the ability to understand and transcribe spoken content accurately
• Good reading comprehension skills in English, allowing for effective communication with the project team
• Prior experience with transcription, preferably in a professional setting
• Prior experience with audio data, including handling and processing audio files
• Access to a PC/laptop or an iPad, with a stable internet connection for remote work
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to focus on complex audio recordings
• Ability to review examples and apply rules to the provided data, demonstrating analytical skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
