Job Description
About the Role
As a Translation Validator at Welo Global, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and improving the quality of AI-generated translations from English into Indic languages, specifically Kannada. Your primary responsibility will be to perform A/B preference testing of machine-generated translations, selecting the preferred translation and providing a written justification for your choice. This role is part of a larger project aimed at supporting a synthetic data generation program for a leading technology client.The success of this project relies on the accuracy and fluency of the translations, and as a Translation Validator, you will be instrumental in ensuring that the final product meets the highest standards. You will work independently, reviewing English source documents alongside two machine-generated translations, and completing assigned samples within established timelines.

What You Will Do
- Review English source documents alongside two machine-generated Kannada translations
- Evaluate both variants based on accuracy, fluency, and overall translation quality
- Select the preferred translation and provide a clear written justification for your assessment
- Complete assigned samples independently and within established timelines
- Adhere strictly to project and client guidelines
- Work collaboratively with other validators to ensure consistency and quality
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the translation process
- Stay up-to-date with project developments and client requirements
- Participate in optional training and workshops to enhance your skills
What We Are Looking For
- Native-level fluency in Kannada (written and spoken)
- Strong written communication skills in the target language
- Proficiency in English
- Background in linguistics, translation, or language quality assessment preferred
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and consistency
- Familiarity with Romanized script conventions for the relevant language
- Experience with translation tools and software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
