About the Role

Join the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) as a Transportation Engineer 2 focused on Traffic Design. You will play a vital role in ensuring that highway construction projects meet safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare design documentation, contract plans, and construction estimates for traffic projects.
  • Participate in project scoping while developing preliminary engineering estimates.
  • Create traffic discipline plans and documentation for project delivery.
  • Design and maintain traffic signals, roadway illumination, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
  • Draft and review work zone traffic control plans to enhance safety.
  • Utilize computer-aided engineering software for design production.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and external customers through written communications.

Requirements

  • Background in transportation engineering with relevant qualifications.
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with design software.
