The Traveling Blade Repair Technician II role at Vestas is a unique opportunity for individuals with a passion for renewable energy and mechanical expertise. As a traveling technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing wind turbines across the United States, ensuring the efficiency and reliability of these critical systems. What You Will Do
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wind turbines, including blade inspections and replacements
- Collaborate with site managers and other technicians to identify and resolve technical issues
- Utilize digital tools and software to diagnose and troubleshoot problems
- Develop and implement repair plans, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and safely
- Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards
- Provide training and guidance to junior technicians, as needed
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve processes and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance and repair activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
What We Are Looking For
- At least 6 months of experience with a Wind Technician certificate, or 1 year of wind turbine experience, or 2 years in mechanical or electrical fields
- Highly developed problem-solving abilities and an engaged approach to responsibilities
- Safety-conscious and committed to best practices
- Ability to work well with others and enjoy collaborative environments
- Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights
- Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and a valid driver’s license
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship
Nice to Have
- Experience with wind turbine maintenance and repair
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with digital tools and software used in the wind industry
- Certification in a related field, such as wind energy or mechanical engineering
