## About the Role Canonical is seeking an experienced Ubuntu Linux Kernel Engineer to join its team, focusing on silicon enablement. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing the Linux kernel for various system on chip platforms, ensuring the highest performance for users.

## Responsibilities - Collaborate with a globally distributed team to integrate platform support into the Ubuntu Linux kernel - Work closely with silicon vendor partners to resolve kernel issues and improve performance - Diagnose and resolve issues reported by partners, customers, and the community - Deliver distinct silicon-optimized variants of the Ubuntu Linux kernel - Improve tooling and automation for kernel delivery and testing - Submit, review, and apply kernel patches with internal and external maintainers - Identify new means of maximizing performance on partner silicon

## Requirements - Strong aptitude for software engineering at the hardware level - Experience with Linux kernel development or other real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal environments - Ability to work in a remote environment and collaborate globally

## Nice to Have - Direct experience with the Linux kernel - Prior background in working with silicon vendors
