About the Role
The Underwriter Motor position at Coralisle Group Ltd. is a critical component of the company's risk management strategy. As an Underwriter Motor, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the risk exposure of the company's motor insurance business. This will involve analyzing data, evaluating risk profiles, and making informed decisions to ensure that the company's motor insurance portfolio remains profitable. You will be working closely with a team of experienced underwriters and will be expected to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.The role of the Underwriter Motor is to assist with the management of the risk exposure of the company from its core business, ensuring that it yields a profit while achieving the targeted gross income and market share. You will be managing relationships with third-party producers, achieving customer excellence, and contributing to the overall success of the company.
What You Will Do
- Assist with the management of the risk exposure of the company's motor insurance business
- Analyze data and evaluate risk profiles to make informed decisions
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
- Manage relationships with third-party producers
- Achieve customer excellence and contribute to the overall success of the company
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's motor insurance products and services
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in motor insurance
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to the company's motor insurance business
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the profitability of the motor insurance portfolio
What We Are Looking For
- Three (3) - Five (5) years' experience working in the insurance industry, with a minimum 2 years underwriting experience
- Minimum of five (5) CXC/GCE 'O' Level passes inclusive of Mathematics & English Language
- Minimum of three (3) CAPE or A Level passes
- Completed Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Certificate Level OR equivalent qualification
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs - Word & Excel
- Any equivalent combination of education & experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Nice to Have
- Completed or pursuing BSc. or higher qualification in Insurance & Risk Management, Business Management, or any other related course of study
- Experience working in a similar role in the insurance industry
- Knowledge of other Microsoft Office Programs, such as Access or PowerPoint
- Certification in a related field, such as risk management or insurance
