Job Description

## About the Role As a Unity 6 VFX Artist at Valorbyte UG, you will be part of a creative and technology-driven team responsible for crafting visually stunning effects for mobile games. Your day-to-day tasks will involve designing and implementing high-quality VFX, working closely with game designers and developers to integrate effects into gameplay, and optimizing VFX for performance across various platforms. You will be working in a flexible, 20-hour-per-week schedule, allowing for a great work-life balance.

You will be working in a collaborative environment, reporting to the lead developer or art director, and will be expected to communicate effectively with the rest of the team to ensure seamless integration of your work.

## What You Will Do - Create and implement high-quality VFX in Unity 6, focusing on stylized and performance-optimized effects - Develop shaders using Shader Graph for real-time rendering and customization - Work with PrimeTween to control animations and VFX timing, ensuring smooth and impactful visual feedback - Design game feel through visual feedback, including hits, explosions, UI effects, abilities, and more - Collaborate with game designers and developers to integrate effects into gameplay, ensuring a cohesive and engaging player experience - Optimize VFX for performance across mobile and cross-platform builds, using tools like Unity's Profiler and rendering pipelines - Maintain and structure VFX pipelines within Unity projects, ensuring efficient workflow and version control - Use Git for version control, collaborating with the development team to ensure smooth integration of changes - Participate in team meetings and discussions, providing feedback and insights on VFX and game development - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies, applying this knowledge to continuously improve the quality and performance of VFX

## What We Are Looking For - Experience as a VFX Artist in Unity, preferably with Unity 6 or similar recent versions - Strong knowledge of Shader Graph and real-time rendering, with a portfolio showcasing your skills - Experience with DOTween or PrimeTween for animation and timing logic, with a solid understanding of motion design principles - Familiarity with Figma, using it for VFX planning, UI/VFX coordination, or prototyping workflows - Solid understanding of Unity Particle System and/or VFX Graph, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practical projects - Good understanding of game feel, timing, and visual feedback, with a focus on creating engaging and immersive player experiences - Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows, with a strong ability to communicate and work with remote teams - Self-driven, structured working style and strong team mindset, with excellent English skills for effective communication

## Nice to Have - Experience with other game engines, such as Unreal Engine or Godot - Knowledge of programming languages like C# or Java, with the ability to apply this knowledge in Unity development - Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, with experience working in fast-paced, iterative development environments - Certification in Unity or related technologies, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
