Job Description

About the Role

As a frontend software engineer at Ramp, you will be part of a dynamic team that is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams. Your primary focus will be on developing performant, beautiful, and usable interfaces that solve complex needs for growing businesses. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales and business teams, to incorporate customer feedback and productize solutions.

The role entails a deep understanding of JavaScript, a passion for web performance, and the ability to creatively come up with solutions to solve customer needs. You will be working with a tech stack that includes TypeScript, React, Vite, and Ryu, an in-house design system.

As a frontend engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining large-scale applications, ensuring that they are scalable, efficient, and easy to maintain. You will also be involved in establishing engineering processes, tools, and systems that will allow the team to scale and grow.

What You Will Do

  • Build performant, beautiful, and usable interfaces that solve complex needs for growing businesses
  • Ship products and services in cross-functional teams
  • Work with sales and business teams to incorporate and productize customer feedback
  • Help establish engineering processes, tools, and systems that will allow the team to scale and grow
  • Collaborate with designers to create consistent and intuitive user experiences
  • Develop and maintain large-scale applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React
  • Ensure that applications are scalable, efficient, and easy to maintain
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in frontend development

What We Are Looking For

  • Graduating with a B.S. (or higher) in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, with a knack for getting the visuals right
  • Experience with one or more object-oriented programming languages
  • Track record of shipping high-quality products and features or a portfolio of side projects
  • Ability to turn business and product ideas into engineering solutions
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, continuously grow, and master your craft

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in React v16+
