About the Role
The Blockchain & Climate Institute is seeking passionate and skilled Technology Officers to join their team of volunteers. As a Technology Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's mission to promote the application of blockchain and other data technologies in the global fight against climate change. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conducting independent research and analysis, engaging with key stakeholders, and establishing strategic partnerships to progress the BCI's core objectives.The BCI is an international think tank that relies on the expertise of its volunteers to drive climate action. As a Technology Officer, you will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the environment. Your work will involve supporting end-to-end projects, from understanding business or domain knowledge to developing machine learning models and data-driven pipelines.

What You Will Do
- Provide technical support for members of working groups in areas such as renewable energy, carbon trading, forest monitoring, and natural resource management
- Generate opportunities for strategic partnerships with organizations and individuals who share the BCI's mission
- Attend conferences and events to promote the BCI, communicate research findings, and engage with key stakeholders
- Conduct independent research and analysis on topics related to climate change and data technologies
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including academia, industry, and government institutions
- Support the development of data-driven pipelines and machine learning models to drive climate action
- Collaborate with other teams within the BCI to support technical projects and initiatives
- Develop and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders on research findings and project updates
- Participate in working groups and committees to contribute to the development of the BCI's strategic objectives

- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, R, Scala, Go)
