About the Role

The US Regional Representative (Student Recruiter) role at Temple University, Japan Campus is a unique opportunity for a motivated and outgoing individual to support the university's enrollment goals. As a key representative of the university, this role involves working closely with prospective students, parents, school counselors, and other stakeholders to promote the university's programs and build relationships with schools and communities. The successful candidate will be based in the US and work remotely, with frequent travel required for school visits, college fairs, and other events.

The role is part of the Admissions Counseling team, which is responsible for recruiting and advising prospective students from around the world. The team is committed to providing excellent customer service and support to students and families, and the US Regional Representative will play a critical role in achieving this goal. With a strong focus on cultural exchange and international education, this role offers the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds and help them achieve their academic goals.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and applicants in the US
  • Prepare and deliver presentations about Temple University, Japan Campus to promote its programs and build relationships with schools and communities
  • Attend school and college fairs, recruiting conferences, and other events to engage with prospective students and stakeholders
  • Conduct proactive outreach to prospective and admitted students and their families to build rapport and increase yield
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high school and community college teachers, counselors, and administrators to increase awareness of Temple University, Japan Campus and its programs
  • Expand the university's presence and participation as a sponsor or exhibitor at Japanese cultural festivals and events in the US
  • Achieve a quota of 100 school visits, college fairs, and/or events per semester
  • Meet regularly with the Director of Overseas Admissions Counseling and provide monthly reports on activities and progress
  • Assist with major in-person events held on the TUJ campus in Japan, such as the Counselor Fly-in Program and the High School Summer Program
  • Perform administrative duties and provide support to various recruiting and marketing projects and programs as determined by the Director of Overseas Admissions Counseling

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in student recruiting and/or university admissions
  • Native or near-native proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with databases and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Friendly, customer-focused, and professional demeanor
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain an international driver's permit if required
  • Experience in sales and/or marketing
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Target-oriented mindset, with the ability to work toward and meet defined goals
  • Ability to communicate effectively at a professional level, both in writing and verbally

Nice to Have

  • Experience presenting to large groups, coordinating trips, and/or marketing
  • Study abroad experience
  • Experience with CRM systems and university platforms (e.g., Slate, Banner)
  • Business-level spoken Japanese
  • Previous work experience with a Japanese organization or in a related field
