Usability Rapid Researcher (Contract)

About the Role

What You Will Do

• Design and execute unmoderated, moderated usability testing, and user interviews through a rapid research program.
• Lead communication and collaboration with cross-functional partners, including design, product management, engineers, and product marketing.
• Scope and prioritize usability projects with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective research outcomes.
• Work quickly to turn around high-quality research insights that drive business and product impact.
• Develop research deliverables that achieve business and product goals, such as research reports, presentations, and design recommendations.
• Assist other researchers with projects as needed, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Conduct research using a variety of methods, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights on user behavior and needs.
• Analyze and interpret research data, identifying trends and patterns that inform product design and strategy.

What We Are Looking For

• 3+ years of professional experience conducting user research, with a focus on usability and user experience.
• BA/BS in Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Behavioral Science, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent experience within a product-centric environment.
• Strong understanding of research design, qualitative analysis, and user-centered design principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful insights.
• Experience with remote research methods and tools, such as online surveys and usability testing software.

• Previous experience conducting remote research, with a focus on usability and user experience.
• Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to pivot quickly in response to changing priorities and project requirements.
• Understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different quantitative research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
