About the Role
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is seeking a skilled User Researcher to join their team. As a User Researcher, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of the Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) for local government. You will work closely with colleagues to design and lead user research activities, ensuring that user needs are at the forefront of service and product design. What You Will Do
- Conduct user research to understand the needs and experiences of users across the planning system
- Develop and implement user research plans, ensuring that research is conducted with a diverse range of users
- Analyze and synthesize user research data to present clear user insights and actionable findings
- Communicate user findings to stakeholders, including senior officials, and advocate for user needs and experiences
- Support the development of routes to recruit participants for research and design a feedback loop for research
- Identify appropriate research methods to meet the aims of the research
- Work with community and collaboration and engagement managers to gather intel about users' experience using the CAF
- Support the team to develop strategic insights and recommendations from all user research conducted
- Ensure that user research is conducted with a diverse range of users and that inclusive research is embedded into all user research practices
- Plan, design, and conduct user research with key user groups to understand their needs and experiences

- Experience in user research, with a strong understanding of user-centered design principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and synthesize complex data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate user findings to stakeholders
- Experience with tools such as Adjust and Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork
- Strong understanding of the importance of inclusive research and the ability to ensure that research is conducted with a diverse range of users

- Experience working in a government or public sector organization
