User Researcher

About the Role

What You Will Do

• Conduct user research to understand the needs and experiences of users across the planning system
• Develop and implement user research plans, ensuring that research is conducted with a diverse range of users
• Analyze and synthesize user research data to present clear user insights and actionable findings
• Communicate user findings to stakeholders, including senior officials, and advocate for user needs and experiences
• Support the development of routes to recruit participants for research and design a feedback loop for research
• Identify appropriate research methods to meet the aims of the research
• Work with community and collaboration and engagement managers to gather intel about users' experience using the CAF
• Support the team to develop strategic insights and recommendations from all user research conducted
• Ensure that user research is conducted with a diverse range of users and that inclusive research is embedded into all user research practices
• Plan, design, and conduct user research with key user groups to understand their needs and experiences

What We Are Looking For

• Experience in user research, with a strong understanding of user-centered design principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and synthesize complex data
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate user findings to stakeholders
• Experience with tools such as Adjust and Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork
• Strong understanding of the importance of inclusive research and the ability to ensure that research is conducted with a diverse range of users

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a government or public sector organization
• Knowledge of the planning system and the role of local government
• Experience with design thinking and human-centered design principles
• Certification in user research or a related field
