About the Role

The User Safety & Risk Operations Analyst will play a critical role in protecting Openai's platform and users from abuse. As part of the Trust & Safety operations team, this position will involve collaborating with internal teams, including Product, Engineering, Legal, and Operations, to design and implement policies, processes, and automated systems to prevent abuse and ensure compliance.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment, handling sensitive and complex issues, and building processes from scratch. This role may involve working with disturbing content, so a strong stomach and ability to handle sensitive information are essential.

The Trust & Safety operations team is central to Openai's mission, and this role will be instrumental in ensuring the platform's safety and compliance. The team works closely with various stakeholders to deliver the best possible experience to users while minimizing abuse.

What You Will Do

  • Work directly with customers to resolve complex trust and safety issues
  • Partner with internal teams to develop, implement, and scale new processes and automation strategies
  • Build and launch operational processes for human-in-the-loop labeling, user reporting, and content moderation
  • Perform risk evaluations and investigations to identify new abuse trends
  • Analyze data to identify user trends and drive improvements
  • Serve as an incident manager for high-complexity cases
  • Equip other teams with training, playbooks, and workflows to drive performance improvements
  • Develop a deep understanding of Openai's usage policies and content integrity issues

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in trust and safety, compliance, or related fields
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to comprehend complex technical issues
  • Excellent project and program management skills
  • Proven experience in scaling operations and building strong relationships cross-functionally
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and have a bias for action
  • Strong technical or data skills, with proficiency in Excel
  • Experience working in a high-paced startup environment
