About the Role

As a Legal and Court Filing Assistant at Job Duck, you will play a vital role in supporting the legal team's efficiency and effectiveness. Your day-to-day tasks will include managing administrative tasks, preparing documents, and maintaining accurate records. You will be an integral part of ensuring the smooth operation of cases, handling communications, calendaring deadlines, and organizing files with precision.

As a key member of the team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with attorneys and paralegals, contributing to the delivery of exceptional client service. Your role will also involve communicating with clients, coordinating with legal servers, and scheduling case events.

What You Will Do

  • Draft legal forms, documents, and correspondence for attorney review
  • Open and close client files, ensuring proper transfer between Clio Grow and Clio Manage
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks assigned by attorneys or paralegals
  • Copy, scan, and file records; maintain filing systems and upload files into Clio
  • Communicate with clients via email, phone, or in person to obtain information or relay updates
  • Coordinate with legal servers to file physical documents
  • Schedule case events and manage the firm's master calendar
  • Proofread all prepared work before submission to paralegals or attorneys
  • Handle electronic filing with the court and related communications
  • Enter deadlines and reminders into Clio and resolve scheduling conflicts

What We Are Looking For

  • 2-3 years of experience working as a legal assistant
  • Family law knowledge is a plus
  • Experience in billing worked hours is highly appreciated
  • Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, or relevant professional certification preferred
  • Proficiency with Clio Grow and Clio Manage required
  • Familiarity with GoTo Meeting, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Suite
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional phone etiquette

  • Experience with document management systems
