About the Role

The Value Engineer - Ads & Promos role at DoorDash is a critical component of the company's Sales Engineering team, which is responsible for driving the adoption and growth of advertising solutions among hundreds of top SMB restaurants in the US. This team works closely with the existing sales team, including Account Management and Account Development, to understand the marketing growth goals of restaurant customers and tailor DoorDash's product solutions to meet their needs. As a Value Engineer, you will play a key role in assisting sales representatives in handling technical and product questions and blockers during the sales cycle.

Day-to-day, this role involves joining sales calls with merchants, gaining a deep understanding of their business and technology stack, and creating and communicating solutions that align the merchants' needs and goals with DoorDash's marketing offerings. This position reports to the Manager of Sales Engineering and is based on a remote work arrangement, with proximity to a DoorDash office being preferred but not required.

What You Will Do

  • Assist sales reps in handling technical or product questions and blockers in the sales cycle
  • Join sales calls with merchants to understand their business and technology stack
  • Create and communicate solutions that align merchants' needs and goals with DoorDash's marketing offerings
  • Drive sales by qualifying and closing deals from a technical standpoint
  • Collaborate with sales and development partners to achieve sales objectives
  • Become a subject matter expert on the DoorDash Advertising product suite
  • Create and deliver customized performance reviews, product demos, and proof of concepts
  • Support pre- and post-product adoption analysis, including forecasting expected impact, running experiments/tests, analyzing results, and iterating
  • Influence the product roadmap by aggregating merchant feedback calls
  • Work closely with the sales team to assist and accelerate the sales process

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in sales engineering, sales consulting, value engineering, pre-sales solution consulting, or related roles
  • Experience with Excel and the ability to pull complex data sets
  • Ability to present results to customers in a digestible format and build/edit dashboards to showcase data
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to match appropriate solutions for each merchant scenario
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work seamlessly with sales team members
  • Understanding of how to assist and accelerate the sales process
  • Strong technical skills, with the ability to learn new technologies and features
  • Experience writing SQL queries for data retrieval and analysis
  • Knowledge of Ad-Tech, Advertising Products or Models, including campaign metrics and financial metrics

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in Ad-Tech, Advertising Products, or Models
  • Familiarity with campaign metrics, value analyses, and financial metrics (e.g., CPA, incremental sales lift, lifetime value uplift, return on ad spend)
  • Experience with data analysis tools and technologies
