Job Description

About the Role

The VDR, Majors role at Vercel is a pivotal position that bridges the gap between sales development and driving adoption among major companies. As a key member of the APAC Sales team, the successful candidate will be responsible for building a pipeline of qualified business opportunities through a combination of cold outbound efforts and close collaboration with the Majors Account Executive team. This role requires a deep understanding of the sales process, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously while being an integral part of a cross-functional team.

The day-to-day responsibilities will include researching and engaging high-potential companies, tailoring outreach strategies to key decision-makers, and qualifying inbound leads to generate outbound opportunities. The role also involves partnering with Account Executives to build pipeline and drive adoption in the Majors segment, as well as collaborating with Marketing, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success teams to refine messaging and improve outreach effectiveness.

Given the autonomous nature of this role, the candidate must be self-motivated, with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. The ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is crucial, as is the capacity to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

What You Will Do

  • Identify and engage high-potential companies that could benefit from Vercel’s platform
  • Research prospects and tailor outreach to engineering, product, and marketing leaders
  • Qualify inbound leads and generate outbound opportunities through personalized outreach
  • Partner with Account Executives to build pipeline and drive adoption in the Majors segment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to refine messaging and improve outreach effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Vercel’s products and services
  • Utilize Excel and other sales tools to track and analyze sales performance
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities
  • Provide feedback to the sales team on market trends and customer needs
  • Participate in sales strategy meetings to contribute to the development of sales plans

What We Are Looking For

  • Passion for web development and staying current with the latest trends and technologies
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical, sales, or customer support role for a technical product
  • Excellent communication skills — ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with sales tools and CRM software
  • Strong understanding of sales principles and practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales targets
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the APAC market or with similar sales roles
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and paid media
